Job summary

Sealaska Heritage Institute (SHI) Education Department seeks a full-time program manager to oversee Baby Raven Reads. You will coordinate staff, manage budgets, and ensure grant reporting with a focus on early literacy initiatives in Southeast Alaska.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field and at least four years in project management and program coordination, with strong communication and organizational skills. Travel to communities is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field is required.
  • Minimum of four years in project management and program coordination.
  • Strong communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with high attention to detail and timelines.
  • Familiarity with charts, tables, graphs, spreadsheets, and databases; knowledge of SE Alaska Native culture is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the Baby Raven Reads program and related activities.
  • Engage with stakeholders, partners, and participants across the region.
  • Supervise project staff and coordinate budgets and reporting.
  • Ensure grant reporting and compliance with funder requirements.
  • Coordinate training, contracts, and partnerships; support the Education Department.
