Job summary

The New Children’s Museum in San Diego seeks an Assistant Manager of Education to support the Education Manager in daily operations and to coordinate high-quality arts education programs for children and families. You will engage with teachers, schools, and Teaching Artists while managing calendars, registrations, and program logistics.

Ideal candidates are highly organized, communicative, and capable of handling multiple priorities with accurate records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; arts/education focus preferred.
• Minimum two years of program coordination, administration, or related supervisory experience.
• Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills; detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day administration of the School Visit Program and calendars; manage registrations and communications with teachers and schools.
• Oversee master calendars, room reservations, and Teaching Artist schedules for efficient staffing.
• Supervise and support Teaching Artists; coordinate scheduling and onboarding activities.
• Collaborate on curriculum development and program assessment with the Senior Teaching Artist team.
• Coordinate university partnerships and plan collaborative events and visits.
• Provide administrative support for Education events and department initiatives.
