Job summary

The Hewlett Foundation in Menlo Park, California is seeking a Program Associate for the Education program. This full-time, non-exempt role provides grantmaking, operational, and programmatic support, partnering with Program Officers, grantees, and colleagues to move a large portfolio forward.

The Program Associate will bring strong organization, judgment, and proactive communication, with opportunities to deepen knowledge, own projects, and contribute to the evolving education strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with education or social sciences background.
• At least three years of relevant professional experience supporting multiple individuals.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Creative, solutions-oriented problem solving with timely follow-through.
• Excellent software skills, including MS Office and Google Workspace.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage high volume grants through full lifecycle, including proposal solicitation and development, review, processing, tracking, reporting, and closeout.
• Support design and implementation of the Education Strategy, including learning and sharing among grantees.
• Coordinate with Grants Management and Legal on grant processing, compliance, and related data.
• Assist in tracking spending and budgets across the program.
• Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes for new and departing staff.
