Job Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (approximately 30 hours per week) Education Program Assistant 2: Food Safety and Preservation Program position for the Division of Extension and Engagement’s Family and Community Health ( FCH ) Program at Oregon State University ( OSU ). This position is located in Roseburg, Oregon.
This Education Program Assistant 2 (EPA2) position serves the Douglas County and is based at the OSU Division of Extension and Engagement’s Extension Service office in Roseburg, Oregon. This position is with the Extension Family and Community Health ( FCH ) program, affiliated with OSU College of Health.
The EPA2 will:

The goal of FCH’s community food security programs is to increase access to affordable, healthy and culturally appropriate foods. Programs such as the Master Food Preservers ( MFP ) support this goal by connecting community members with up-to-date information and resources for preserving healthy and locally harvested foods. Key Responsibilities
Nutrition Education Delivery
85% – Community Food Security and Safety Program Assistance and Delivery
Record-keeping: Maintain class, meeting, training and assessment records, attendance records, evaluation data, and paperwork; verify for accuracy; submit all required records upon completion of classes, meetings, trainings and assessments for state and federal reporting.
Maintain record of work contacts, personal vehicle mileage for work travel, supplies purchased; other data/statistical information/records as requested.
5% – Meetings & Trainings and Other Duties
Attend scheduled Nutrition Education meetings and trainings. Participate in relevant statewide/regional conferences, workshops, meetings and trainings. Attend County Extension staff meetings and participates in regional/state OSU Extension Service activities, as directed.
Follow OSU and division brand guidelines, digital publishing standards and digital contact management data integrity practices for programmatic communications, marketing and engagement.
Attend training opportunities to build basic knowledge and consistent skills to use digital communications, marketing and engagement technologies relevant to position duties.
Complete the division’s civil rights training session(s) and assist the managing faculty with coordinating the completion by volunteers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What We Require
Associate’s Degree and three years of work experience (paid or volunteer) supporting community programs that serve children, youth or adults OR Bachelor’s Degree and one year of work experience (paid or volunteer) one year of which must be working in youth development programs, adult education, teaching, program delivery or related functions OR Five years experience in a field related to the duties of the position AND a high school diploma or equivalent. AND Demonstrated oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated skill to work with diverse audiences. Demonstrated skill to use computers for word processing, data management, and communications.

Access to a vehicle is necessary as duties will require driving/travel to various sites in Douglas County to deliver non-credit programs and transporting curriculum materials. Flexibility to perform work in a variety of office and work settings. Evenings and weekends may be required based on programming needs, coordinating with supervisor to adapt work schedule to address community programming needs.
