Job summary

The NEA Internship Program at the Education Policy and Implementation Center (EPIC) offers a Fall 2026 internship in Washington, DC. Interns assist with research, policy analysis, writing, and data work across federal education policy and practice areas.

Interns will gain hands-on experience in policy advocacy, accessibility, and program support, with opportunities to participate in events, briefings, and cross‑team collaboration. Stipend is $20 per hour, up to 20 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Interns are juniors, seniors, or recent graduates (up to 18 months) interested in public education policy.
• Students pursuing relevant degrees are encouraged to apply.
• Internships may range from six weeks to a full semester.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and data analysis to support policy development.
• Assist with writing, editing and creating policy materials.
• Support partnership events, meetings and policy forums.
• Attend Capitol Hill visits and other program activities.
• Assist with advocacy and dissemination of resources.
