Job summary

EdAllies seeks a Policy Advocate to lead advocacy campaign strategy, outreach, amplification, and mobilization. You will monitor Minnesota education policy developments and translate key takeaways into actions for parents, students, educators, and community leaders.

You will work with the Advocacy Programming Manager to guide participants through hands‑on advocacy opportunities, coaching on testimony, lobby days, and more.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in education, advocacy, organizing, or related field.
• Commitment to EdAllies’ mission and education equity.
• Proficiency in Spanish, Hmong, or Somali is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Track education policy developments and inform the community with clear analyses.
• Connect community members to advocacy and communications opportunities to drive policy change.
• Keep partners informed to support ongoing engagement in advocacy.
• Attend meetings/hearings, coordinate testimony, and support advocacy tactics.
• Plan lobby days and policy engagement events; coordinate with team members as needed.
• Maintain community engagement data and tracking systems for policy processes.
• Lead EdAllies’ Youth Advisory Council and develop campaigns grounded in student needs.
• Represent the organization publicly via social media, coalitions, and testimony.
