Job summary

University of New Mexico Gallup Branch seeks an Education Support Coordinator to assist the Director with administrative and academic tasks, coordinate and market academic programming, and help with events, trips, workshops and outreach activities.

This role supports TRIO/Upward Bound, focusing on service delivery, student support, and program success for first‑generation and low‑income students. The coordinator works closely with staff to ensure smooth operations and effective outreach.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, organization, and implementation of the Upward Bound academic year and summer program component
• Develop promotional and marketing materials, educational information, newsletters and brochures
• Develops and maintains records and databases on student and program activities, materials, equipment and supplies; maintains documentation of students' progress as well as alumni tracking
• Oversees participant application process; communicates with prospective participants, parents, school counselors and other stakeholders
• Monitors and reconciles program fiscal services, including purchasing activities and student stipends
• Collaborate with Outreach Advisors to identify non-academic needs of program participants
• Connects participants to appropriate resources, tracks use of coordinated services, and provides specific referral services
• Develops and facilitates workshops on a variety of topics
