Job summary

OHCAC Head Start seeks an Education Mentor/Coach Manager to oversee safety and daily operations while applying the Frogstreet Curriculum to design and implement lesson plans. You will support staff through on-site coaching, improving teacher-child interactions and development.

The role includes facilitating Practice-Based Coaching cycles, providing feedback, and coordinating with leadership to monitor staff performance and productivity.

• Base Pay: $27.56per hour

Job Summary

• The Education Mentor/Coach Manager will ensure the safety and physical well-being of the children and the effective daily operations according to Head Start and Ohio Department of Child and Youth Licensing Rules while using the Frogstreet Curriculum to develop and implement lesson plans and activity effectiveness. In addition, the Mentor/Coach will provide on-site coaching/mentoring in action, enabling staff to observe appropriate child development practices and conscious discipline techniques for improved teacher-child interaction. The Mentor/Coach will provide professional development to support teachers as they implement effective practices that lead to positive outcomes for children. The Mentor/Coach will utilize Practice-Based Coaching, which is a cyclical process for supporting teachers’ use of effective teaching practices that lead to positive outcomes for children. The coaching-cycle components are (1) planning goals and action steps, (2) engaging in focused observation, and (3) reflecting on and sharing feedback about teaching practices. Practice-Based Coaching occurs within the context of a collaborative partnership. A positive approach towards staff development will be maintained through team involvement, developing collaborative teaching communities, and participating and providing in-service training. The Mentor/Coach will communicate while working in conjunction with the Education Supervising Manager to monitor employees’ daily productivity, responsibilities and overall work habits.
