Job summary

Sussex County Public Schools invites applications for a Federal Programs Specialist to lead the development, administration, and compliance of federal grant programs across Title I, II, III, IV, V and VTSS. The role is based in the central office and reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's and/or Master’s degree required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of Title Grants experience.
• Knowledge of federal education laws, regulations, and grant requirements.
• Experience with budget development and grant management.
• Strong communication and collaboration with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee administration of all assigned federal grant programs.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Develop, submit, and monitor federal grant applications and amendments.
• Maintain documentation and records for federal programs and grants.
• Collaborate with various departments to develop, manage, and monitor federal program budgets.
• Analyze student achievement, attendance, graduation, and other performance data to determine program effectiveness.
• Provide technical assistance and training to principals, teachers, and staff regarding federal program requirements.
• Coordinate meaningful consultation and engagement activities with families, community organizations, and private schools as required by federal law.
• Facilitate meetings, committees, and advisory groups related to federal programs.
• Assist schools in developing school wide plans and implementing evidence-based interventions.
• Submit reimbursement requests
• Coordinate time and effort, documentation, and personnel reporting requirements.
• Maintain accurate and organized federal program records to support state and federal monitoring, audits, and program reviews.
• Coordinate responses and documentation related to federal and state monitoring findings and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with school administrators, instructional leaders, finance personnel, and state agencies to ensure effective use of federal resources.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer.
