Job summary

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in special education or equivalent and Maryland license in special education.
• Experience in a lead administration role serving individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Experience with transition services preferred; 3 years of teaching in special education required if only a teaching license is held.
• Strong planning, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the educational program in compliance with COMAR and CSAAC policies.
• Select and implement curriculum; manage instructional materials and library resources.
• Oversee IEP-related activities, meetings, and progress documentation.
• Interview applicants and oversee staff recruitment and retention.
• Ensure budget alignment and allocate resources to meet student needs.
• Coordinate with MSDE/LEA staff and arrange site visits as required.
• Disseminate information, manage referrals, intake, and reporting to LEAs.
• Maintain student records and statistical reporting, and communicate with parents.
