Job summary

Iowa Department of Education in Des Moines seeks a Data Analyst 2 to analyze education data sets, manipulate data, and produce education metrics for state and federal reporting, working closely with assessment data and publishing the Annual Condition of Education, School Performance Profiles, and other department reports.

The successful candidate will have an advanced degree in Education or a related field, strong skills in SAS, R, SQL, SPSS or STATA, and the ability to present complex analyses

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Education, Statistics, Social Sciences or similar field.
• Experience analyzing large education data sets and calculating metrics.
• Ability to build data files to meet specifications and perform advanced statistical modeling.

Responsibilities

• Analyze education data sets and produce metrics for state and federal reporting.
• Work with assessment data and publish reports (Annual Condition of Education, School Performance Profiles).
• Assist in implementing Iowa’s accountability framework and develop technical documentation.
• Run quality assurance checks for data accuracy and present results to stakeholders.
• Prepare reports and publications and perform statistical modeling as needed.
