Job summary

The Iowa Department of Education seeks a Data Analyst 2 to join the Bureau of Performance and Analytics. The role centers on analyzing education data sets, building metrics, and supporting state and federal reporting efforts.

You will collaborate on publications such as the Annual Condition of Education report and the Iowa School Performance Profiles, develop and document technical procedures, and assist in implementing Iowa’s accountability framework through rigorous data analysis and modeling.

Qualifications

• Six years of full-time analytics, economic research, or data science work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in business analytics, economics, data science, statistics, mathematics, MIS, or industrial management.

Responsibilities

• Analyze education data sets and produce metrics for state and federal reporting.
• Work with assessment data and calculate education metrics.
• Develop publications such as the Annual Condition of Education report and the Iowa School Performance Profiles website.
• Assist in implementing Iowa’s accountability framework by creating measures and recommendations.
• Run quality assurance checks and perform statistical modeling.
• Prepare reports and technical documentation; present results.
