Job summary

Memorial Health System is seeking an Education Coordinator for the CVOR. The role requires an active Illinois RN license and is full-time, Monday to Friday, day shift from 6:15am to 2:45pm with no weekends, holidays, or call.

The Educator splits time 50/50 between education and circulating in the OR. OR or perioperative nursing experience is required, with responsibility for planning, developing, implementing and evaluating orientation and education programs for staff.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license required.
• National specialty nursing certification in clinical area or nursing administration, or completes within 24 months of assuming role.
• CPR certification required; ACLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, implement and evaluate orientation and educational programs for professional and ancillary personnel.
• Document staff competencies/skills validations and maintain appropriate records.
• Monitor and contribute to standards of performance within the department; support quality improvement initiatives.
• Lead efforts to advance the department’s quality and safety goals and promote efficient work processes.
• Promote Memorial Health System Performance Excellence Standards: Safety, Courtesy, Quality, and Efficiency.

CVOR Education Coordinator ** Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois is REQUIRED ** This is a Fulltime, M-F, Day Shift PositionSchedule: 6:15am - 2:45pm, No Weekends, Holidays, or Call The Education Coordinator, CVOR position is split 50/50 between education and circulating in the ORs, therefore OR or Peri-Op nursing experience is required. This position is responsible for planning, developing, implementing and evaluating orientation and educational programs for both professional and ancillary personnel. Ensures an appropriate process is in place to document staff competencies/skills validations. Assisting to monitor and evaluate efforts to maintain standards of performance within the department, the Educator participates in activities to promote efficiency and effectiveness of service and work processes. Assumes a leadership role in efforts to advance the department’s quality improvement agenda and participates in strategies to enhance patient outcomes and employee relations. Education

• ADN required, BSN preferred

Licensure/Certification/Registry

• Current licensure in the State of Illinois as a Registered Nurse REQUIRED.

Experience

• Three years of experience as operating room nurse required, with additional perioperative experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to write educational goals, prepare schedules and apply theory to practice.
• Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development/training.
• Outstanding human-relations, interpersonal, and organization skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
