Job summary

Louisiana Department of Education – Office of Nutrition Support is seeking an Education Consultant to oversee federal Child Nutrition Programs in Louisiana, ensuring proper implementation and compliance. The role includes training, review of program sponsors, and responding to audits, with opportunities to influence nutrition policy and program outcomes statewide.

The position is a temporary appointment up to 4 years, with a Monday–Friday schedule and compensation based on experience.

Qualifications

Six years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services.
Bachelor's degree plus three years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services.
An advanced degree plus two years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services.

Responsibilities

Oversee program sponsors, approve applications, and ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.
Lead training sessions, workshops and provide in-person technical assistance to program staff and sponsors.
Address audit findings and resolve administrative issues.
Conduct on-site program reviews, trainings, and follow-ups to ensure compliance.
Develop policies, analyze program impacts, and recommend changes.
Manage special projects and represent the Department at conferences and trainings.
