Job summary

The Houston Symphony Education & Community Engagement Assistant supports students across Greater Houston, coordinating School Partnerships, Family Concert lobby activities, and Senior Center partnerships. The role includes creating teacher resources, preparing materials, and assisting with event logistics and on-site support during concerts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in arts administration, business administration, music education, performance, or related field.
• 2–3 years of high-level project management experience coordinating with diverse stakeholders.
• Collaborative, optimistic, and team-oriented attitude; strong communication skills.
• Experience with orchestral settings and knowledge of music education strategies preferred.
• Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office; Tessitura experience a plus.
• Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support and expand the Houston Symphony’s reach by managing school registrations and communications.
• Coordinate Family Concert lobby activities and Senior Center partnerships with cross‑department teams.
• Prepare teacher resources, seating instructions, and event signage for concerts.
• Provide on-site support during concerts and coordinate with volunteers and staff.
• Assist Education Manager with program planning, budgets, and board materials.
