Job summary

Teach For America Bay Area seeks a Manager, Coalition Support (Temporary) to help power the San Jose early literacy coalition and its 2030 goal of doubling the number of students reading proficiently by the end of 3rd grade. You will coordinate data, research, and stakeholder engagement across partners to advance evidence-informed strategies like Ignite and other literacy initiatives.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated project management experience organizing complex initiatives, managing timelines, and following through on next steps.
• Experience with research, data management, and systems-building, including cleaning, analyzing, and presenting data from multiple sources.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail across many partners and moving pieces.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparing agendas, meeting materials, summaries, and updates.
• Ability to build trust and collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders.
• Commitment to educational equity and belief in the potential of all students to succeed.

Responsibilities

• Project Management & Execution (35%): Prepare data, materials, and follow-ups for stakeholder meetings to maintain alignment and track next steps.
• Strategic Planning & Systems-Building (30%): Maintain systems for tracking coalition activities, commitments, and progress toward goals.
• Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration (15%): Develop agendas and structure discussions on best practices and research.
• Research & Landscape Analysis (20%): Conduct research on best practices and local needs to guide coalition strategy, including power mapping and tracking California education legislation.
