Job summary

Orange County Public Schools is seeking a Senior Administrator-level professional to lead professional learning, coaching, and induction initiatives. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Florida teaching certificate or have applied to obtain one.
  • One year coaching or teacher-leader experience including leading professional learning.
  • Three years of teaching experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manifest a professional code of ethics and values.
  • Respond to internal and external customers in a timely, accurate, courteous, and empathetic manner representing OCPS in a positive light.
  • Model the routine, intentional and effective use of technology in daily work, including communications, organization, and management tasks.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor a system for data collection and trend analysis for assessing impact of professional learning for instructional development and teacher leadership.
  • Report program data to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate, design, and facilitate professional development related to instructional development and teacher leadership in collaboration with the Professional Learning Department staff.
  • Create a system for eliciting feedback, reflecting, and making adjustments to professional development.
  • Support district events occurring outside of the regular duty hours.
  • Provide district leadership through participation in collaborative working groups, including cross-department projects and initiatives.
  • Provide support and expertise for instructional development and teacher leadership.
  • Facilitate, upon request, communication with stakeholders to resolve problems and address critical issues.
  • Provide support and expertise for instructional development and teacher leadership.
  • Develop leadership in instructional personnel and employ a distributive leadership model.
  • Maintain timely and accurate information and be accountable for the quality.
  • Keep supervisor informed of current critical issues and incidents within his/her area of responsibility about which the supervisor should be aware.
  • Provide district leadership regarding current trends, best practices and promising innovations in educational programs and processes or in areas of assigned responsibility.
  • Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to all HRMD guidelines and the district’s instructional initiatives.

  • Develop leadership in subordinates.
  • Responsible for keeping up to date on current technology being used by OCPS. With the support of the district, attend training to ensure skill level in various technologies is at the level required to perform in current position.
  • Responsible for maintaining timely and accurate information and accountable for the quality of information maintained by those they supervise.
  • Responsible for self-development and keeping up to date on current research, trends and best practices relevant to the area of responsibility.
