Job summary

West Contra Costa Unified School District is seeking a K-12 Instructional Specialist to provide instructional leadership and coaching for teachers and paraprofessionals, with emphasis on English learners, SDAIE, and EL reclassification progress.

The role includes on-site professional development, data-driven decision making, collaboration with administrators, and outreach to parents through ELAC, to ensure equitable access and district standards are met.

Qualifications

Must possess and maintain a valid California Administrative Credential.
Minimum of five years of certificated service, with at least three years teaching.
CLAD or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

Provide instructional leadership and on-site professional development.
Establish coaching relationships to improve instruction and student achievement.
Conduct classroom observations and provide feedback based on data.
Analyze school and grade level data to plan educational programs.
Monitor EL progress and inform instruction using EL data.
Coordinate EL and SDAIE instruction and engage parents via ELAC.
Collaborate with administration and staff to align curriculum and assessment.
Ensure NCLB compliance and support Highly Qualified Teacher requirements.
