Job summary

Perry Middle School in Perry, OH is hiring an Education Associate Level II. The position runs Monday through Friday, 7:25am to 2:40pm, with 6.75 hours per day, following the school calendar.

Compensation ranges per the OAPSE Local #367 agreement and includes a $1,000 signing bonus for new employees. Responsibilities include supporting student learning, maintaining safety, collecting progress data, and serving as liaison between school, students, and families.

Qualifications

• Leadership qualities and personal characteristics to work with students, staff, and families.
• Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills.
• Passage of Para Professional Certificate within 30 days of employment.
• Obtain an Ohio Educational Aide Permit prior to starting employment.
• Passage of a BCI/FBI Background check.

Responsibilities

• Foster positive relationships and personal connections with individual students.
• Support student behavior, adaptive and academic needs in accordance with IEPs and learning plans.
• Collect and report progress data.
• Support students learning in general education classrooms and other school environments.
• Act as liaison between school, parents and student to ensure access to instruction during the school day.
• May assist with washing, toileting, diapering, dressing, grooming and other hygiene tasks.
• May assist with transportation and handling of medical equipment and wheelchairs.
• Assist with loading/unloading of students on buses or cars.
• T Toileting students with disabilities and/or providing hygiene assistance.
• Ensure health and safety of students by following health and safety practices.
