Job description

Pacific Academy is seeking trained applicants interested in joining our school team to provide support for students.

Qualifications:

• Education Assistant certificate
• Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Downs Syndrome, Behaviour Disorders an asset
• Criminal Record Check
• Understanding of and commitment to Christian Education
• Actively and personally support a Pentecostal/Charismatic statement of faith
• Friendly, flexible, self-motivated, team player
• Fluent in oral and written English

Responsibilities may include:

• Provide support to students within the regular classroom and the Learning Support Centre
• Assist with the implementation of IEP and Support Plans under the direction of the Learning Support Coordinator
• Work as part of a team of Education Assistants under the direction of the Learning Support Coordinator
• Assist students during emotional outbursts using non-violent crisis intervention strategies
