Job summary

Havenwyck Hospital in Auburn Hills, Michigan, seeks an Education Assistant to support the head of the education team and run the academic program in a residential treatment setting.

You will assist students, provide individualized academic support, and help maintain records throughout the school day, under the supervision of the education team in a trauma-informed environment.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree required; Bachelor's preferred.
  • Experience working with Emotionally Impaired or Cognitively Impaired children required.
  • Experience working with children with special needs required.
  • Clerical or administrative experience required.
  • Hearing acuity sufficient to perform job functions.

Education Assistant - Residential Treatment Program - Full Time Monday - Friday 7:00AM - 3:30PM

Havenwyck Hospital is a Joint Commission-accredited and licensed psychiatric hospital, overlooking Lake Galloway in Auburn Hills, Michigan. We specialize in providing comprehensive, compassionate behavioral health services to children, adolescents and adults. Havenwyck Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Education Assistant to join our team of compassionate, dedicated professionals.

Position Summary

The Education Assistant will support the head of the education team in all activities related to running the academic program at Havenwyck Hospital. The Education Assistant will also provide support for education team members and students throughout the school day.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Participates as an integral member of the education team.

  • Associate's degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • College Board Sat or ETS Parapro Assessment preferred.

  • Hearing acuity sufficient to perform job functions required.
  • Able to articulate goals and objectives of the department required. Ability to effectively present information to the teaching staff required.
  • Normal visual acuity required.
  • Writing skills sufficient to perform academic support functions required.
