Job summary

KIPP Memphis Collegiate High in Memphis is seeking an Education Assistant to support teachers and students with daily lesson plans and classroom activities. You will assist with materials, provide targeted student support, and help maintain a safe, organized learning environment.

Qualifications include an associate degree or 48 college hours, or a ParaPro equivalent, plus a high school diploma. Prior urban education experience is preferred; a competitive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate degree, OR two (2) years of college (minimum of 48 semester hours), OR a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment Test, and a high school diploma is required.
  • Previous experience with students, preferably in urban or diverse communities, is preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and patience are essential in daily classroom support.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively communicate and coordinate with the instructor to assist with daily lesson plans
  • Aid in preparing materials for student projects
  • Provide individual assistance to children in small groups to ensure understanding
  • Strictly adhere to the school's rules and policies
  • Ensure the safety of the students during classroom activities and on campus
  • Assist the teacher in reviewing, grading, and recording homework and tests
  • Maintain, observe, and assess student progress through assessments
  • All other duties as assigned
