Job summary

The Fedcap Group is seeking an Education and Training Instructor who will deliver high‑quality Power of Possible (POP) and Life Skills workshops. You will actively engage participants, prepare them for work and long‑term career success, and align curriculum with progressive learning stages from foundational concepts to real‑world application.

Hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm, with no nights or weekends.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, human services, workforce development, or related field preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in adult education, workshop facilitation, or workforce development coaching.
  • Experience working with individuals facing barriers to employment is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver POP and Life Skills workshops as scheduled, ensuring consistency and adherence to curriculum standards.
  • Conduct benefits screenings and assist participants with applications for programs (LIHEAP, Head Start, Free Tax Filing, EITC, CTC).
  • Lead ESOL ENGEN classroom sessions and track progress.
  • Maintain structured, engaging sessions with clear expectations and active participant involvement.
  • Track attendance and document progress in FedcapCARES within one business day.
  • Collaborate with Career Advisors and Placement Specialists to align training and next steps.

Education and Training Instructor
Position Summary

The instructor delivers high‑quality Power of Possible (POP) and Life Skills workshops, actively engaging participants and preparing them for work, training, and long‑term career success. Using a structured, proactive, outcome‑driven approach, the instructor delivers curriculum aligned with progressive learning stages, moving participants from foundational understanding to practical application and independent use of skills. The instructor leads engaging, high‑energy sessions, sets clear expectations, and actively involves all participants in an environment that encourages participation, ownership, and consistent engagement.

Work Hours

Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. No nights and no weekends.

Responsibilities
  • POP and Life Skills Training Delivery
    • Deliver POP and Life Skills workshops as scheduled, ensuring consistency, professionalism, and adherence to curriculum standards.
    • Conduct Single Stop® Benefits screenings and support participants with applications for benefits such as LIHEAP, Head Start, Free Tax Filing, EITC, and CTC.
    • Facilitate ESOL ENGEN classroom sessions, including leading language immersion exercises, supporting learning software navigation, and tracking progress.
    • Lead engaging, high‑energy sessions that maintain strong participation from start to finish.
    • Set clear expectations for behavior, participation, and accountability at the start of each session and reinforce them consistently.
    • Use a variety of facilitation strategies to maintain attention, drive participation, and ensure understanding across diverse learning styles.
    • Maintain a structured classroom environment that promotes attendance, participation, and completion of assigned activities.
    • Prepare all materials and technology in advance to ensure effective and uninterrupted workshop delivery.
    • Deliver training aligned with progressive learning stages, ensuring participants move from 
      • Understanding key concepts (e.g., workplace expectations, communication)
      • Applying skills in real‑world scenarios (e.g., role plays, problem‑solving)
      • Demonstrating independence through consistent participation, completion of activities, and readiness for next steps
    • Apply structured learning approaches that integrate cognitive, affective, and psychomotor development.
    • Facilitate activities that reinforce learning through practice, reflection, and application, ensuring skills transfer beyond the classroom.
  • Participant Readiness, Assessment, and Progression
    • Assess participant engagement, performance, and readiness for work, WEP/CS, and STOT through observation and completion of activities.
    • Identify and communicate with participants who are work‑ready or ready for next steps, ensuring timely progression.
    • Provide clear, direct, actionable feedback to reinforce expectations and address gaps.
    • Take proactive steps to re‑engage participants who become disengaged.
    • Reinforce workplace expectations, including attendance, communication, behavior, and accountability.
    • Ensure consistent progression of participants toward readiness.
  • Attendance, Documentation, and Data Management
    • Track and record 100 % of participant attendance for all workshops.
    • Enter attendance, engagement, and progress into FedcapCARES within one business day.
    • Maintain accurate records of participant hours aligned with assigned activities.
    • Maintain complete, accurate, and audit‑ready documentation at all times.
  • Collaboration and Program Alignment
    • Participate in weekly team meetings and case conferencing as needed, providing clear input on participant engagement and readiness.
    • Collaborate closely with Career Advisors and Placement Specialists to align training, participant plans, and next steps.
    • Communicate participant progress, concerns, and readiness clearly and consistently to the team.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, human services, workforce development, or related field preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in adult education, workshop facilitation, or workforce development coaching.
  • Experience working with individuals facing barriers to employment is strongly preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position will be considered.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Minimum starting salary $46,000, depending on experience.
