Job summary

Gonzales ISD District Wide is seeking an Education Aide to assist teachers with classroom activities and administrative tasks. You will work under the supervision of a certified teacher and support instructional materials, displays, and records.

Required is a high school diploma or equivalent, plus the ability to work well with children and communicate effectively. Some experience with children is preferred, with duties across instructional support, student management, and staff collaboration

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Special knowledge: Ability to work well with children; effective communication.
• Experience: Some experience working with children.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist with scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.
• Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
• Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Conduct instructional exercises with individual students or small groups.
• Supervise students during lunch, bus, and recess.
• Communicate any student needs or problems to the teacher.
• Participate in staff development and faculty events as assigned.
