Job summary

Cengage, a global edtech company, seeks a Multimedia Designer to transform manuscripts into engaging online course content with accessible, cross‑device formatting. You will craft visuals, videos, and interactive elements while integrating them into our LMS.

Collaborating with Learning Designers and SMEs, you will ensure timely delivery, quality, and innovation, embracing AI tools to improve product and processes.

Qualifications

• Synthesize complex information into simple, user-friendly visuals that support learning.
• Design and create multimedia elements, including illustrations, interactive elements and games
• Develop video from concept to full completion, using traditional methods and AI services. Craft video scripts and storyboards.
• Ensure multimedia components created are reusable, accessible, and compatible across platforms and devices
• Generate audio using AI text-to-speech services

Responsibilities

• Own technical aspects of content design, programming, and delivery.
• Convert course manuscripts into HTML/CSS format aligned with high-quality standards.
• Apply HTML/CSS formatting to classroom content (narrative lessons, assignments, exams).
• Use basic JavaScript for functionality and interactivity.
• Analyze, design, and implement all multimedia design elements and external assets into our LMS.
• Collaborate with Learning Designers and Subject Matter Experts to develop project design plans.
• Participate in team meetings, sharing design insights and rationale behind decisions.
• Maintain positive working relationships with team members.
• Build partnerships with development teams to meet shared objectives.
• Oversee and train content development vendors on internal processes, design guidelines, and tools.
• Manage projects to meet deadlines and budget without sacrificing quality.
• Identify dependencies early in the project lifecycle.
• Study end-user feedback to improve course design and learner experience.
• Stay current with trends in online education and AI enhancements.
