Job summary

Bertelsmann Education Group in New York seeks a Data Science Intern to work in our data lab, building and evaluating data-driven education solutions. This part-time internship offers hands-on experience with POCs, predictive modeling, and experimentation to improve user outcomes.

You are currently pursuing or have recently completed an MSc or Ph.D. in Data Science, CS, AI, or a related field, with Python (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn), SQL, and GitHub experience, plus authorization to work in the

Qualifications

Currently pursuing or recently completed an MSc or PhD in a quantitative field (Data Science, CS, AI, Statistics, Engineering).
Strong Python programming skills (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn) and solid SQL knowledge.
Hands-on data science/machine learning experience from internships, coursework, or research.
Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Support development of data science and ML prototypes (POCs) using education data.
Work with structured and unstructured datasets to generate insights for decision-making.
Develop/predictive/segmentation models to improve user engagement/outcomes.
Contribute to experimentation (A/B tests) and translate results into recommendations.
Build and iterate on data-driven solutions, including models and basic agent-based workflows.
Communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Collaborate across cross-functional teams and participate in knowledge-sharing sessions.
