Duolingo is seeking a Data Science intern to join our analytics team. You will derive insights from user data, support product experiments, and help shape the user experience with data-driven recommendations.

Ideal candidates are PhD students in quantitative fields, proficient in SQL and Python or R, and able to communicate complex results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Willingness to relocate to NYC or Pittsburgh is required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a PhD in a quantitative field (e.g., Economics, Finance, Statistics, Math, CS) with expected graduation Fall 2027 or Spring/Summer 2028.
• Strong understanding of consumer digital products and applying analytics to business outcomes.
• Experience analyzing large datasets and communicating results to senior audiences.

Responsibilities

• Derive insights from data to influence product roadmaps and drive business results.
• Apply advanced analytical methods, structural approaches, causal inference, and/or ML/AI to model user behavior and estimate impact of features.
• Evaluate product experiments to improve user experiences and communicate findings to senior management.
• Help preserve a culture of fact-based decision making as we scale.
