Duolingo in Pittsburgh/ NYC seeks a data science intern to derive insights from large datasets, build models of user behavior, and evaluate product experiments. You will present findings to senior management and help scale our data-informed culture.

Ideal candidates are PhD students in quantitative fields, proficient in SQL/Python/R, with experience in BigQuery/Snowflake/dbt and a strong appetite for learning and collaboration in a fast-paced team.

Qualifications

• Skilled in SQL, R or Python, and/or statistical methods to analyze behavioral data.
• Previous experience analyzing large datasets, communicating results to technical and non-technical audiences, and making actionable recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Derive insights from data to influence product roadmaps and drive business results.
• Apply advanced analytical methods, structural approaches, causal inference, and/or machine learning/AI to model user behavior and estimate impact of feature implementations.
• Evaluate product experiments to improve user experiences.
• Communicate and present findings to senior management.
• Support culture of fact-based decision making as the company scales.
