Job summary

The Salvation Army in Florida’s Division is seeking a Disaster Services Warehouse/Vehicle Technician in Lutz, FL. This full-time role supports emergency operations, performs maintenance on vehicles and equipment, and drives large vehicles to move materials in relief efforts.

Responsibilities include readiness deployment across the Florida Division, supervising volunteers at the EDS warehouse, and managing inventory levels.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Two years driving large vehicles and two years in a warehouse with shipping/receiving and inventory recording.

Job Details: Job Location: FLA-Divisional HQ - Lutz, FL 33558, Salary Range: $18.00 - $20.00 Hourly, Job Category: Disaster Services, SCHEDULE/HOURS: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM (35 hours/week)

This position is responsible for:

Performs routine repairs and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and vehicles; performs minor plumbing and carpentry repair work; drives Salvation Army large vehicles and transports equipment and supplies in emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintains a constant state of readiness to deploy in support of Emergency Disaster Services throughout the Florida Division
• Performs preventative maintenance and minor repairs of Salvation Army vehicles and equipment.
• Drives vehicle in order to deliver and pick up materials and supply items; Delivers product at assigned destinations according to schedule; unloads truck receiving delivery of product
• Maintains all tools, supplies, parts, and equipment belonging to Divisional EDS Department; Monitors inventory levels of critical inventory; Inventories items received, shipped, and stored.
• Supervises volunteers and community service workers at EDS warehouse as they perform routine janitorial support as well as work projects initiated by EDS Logistics Coordinator.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull heavy (50 lbs or more) materials, supplies, and equipment frequently.
• Work requires driving a vehicle and working outdoors daily with exposure to physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, possible snow, heat or other discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:

• High School diploma or G.E.D., AND Two years' experience driving large vehicles with at least two years' experience in warehouse environment with shipping, receiving, and inventory recording.
• OR any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Licenses & Certifications:

• Valid State Driver's License
• CDL Class A endorsement (valid and current), preferred but not required
• Hazardous Materials and Doubles Endorsement, preferred but not required (must be current or earned within the first 60 days on the job).
