Job summary

UNC Finance and Operations' Electric Distribution Systems group seeks an Engineer Technician to design, review, inspect, and manage maintenance, repair, renovation, and new construction projects for campus electrical infrastructure.

The role requires familiarity with GIS, EDS switching procedures, and IBM Maximo to produce work orders and sketches, and to work with contractors/designers on EDS systems for reliable service.

Qualifications

• Design, review, construction monitoring, inspection and management of maintenance, repair, renovation, and new construction projects.
• Familiarity with electric system model and GIS for work orders and sketches.
• Ability to work with contractors/designers on EDS system.
• Knowledge of EDS switching procedures.

Responsibilities

• Serve as paraprofessional to the Electrical Distribution Systems Engineering group.
• Design, review, inspect and manage maintenance and construction projects.
• Produce work orders and sketches using GIS/Maximo.
• Collaborate with contractors and designers on EDS projects.
