McDonald’s in Chicago seeks an experienced Engineer III to join the Cybersecurity Endpoint Protection team. You will design, implement, and operate enterprise-scale endpoint controls, working with Detection Engineering to ensure high-fidelity telemetry and effective detection workflows.

The role requires 5+ years in cybersecurity focused on endpoint protection, scripting with PowerShell or Python, and the ability to support a 24x7 team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in cybersecurity focused on endpoint protection engineering or operations.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise endpoint protection or EDR/XDR.
• Strong knowledge of Windows, macOS, and/or Linux endpoints.
• Experience implementing enterprise-scale security controls.
• Scripting or automation with PowerShell or Python.
• Understanding of NIST, CIS Controls, MITRE ATT&CK.
• Experience in a 24x7x365 team.
• Ability to analyze complex issues and identify root causes.
• Strong interpersonal skills and vendor management.

Responsabilités

• Engineer, configure, and operate endpoint protection platforms per standards.
• Improve operational stability of endpoint protection services.
• Collaborate with Detection Engineering to ensure telemetry supports high-quality detections.
• Implement preventative and hardening controls to reduce risk.
• Contribute technical input into design and improvement initiatives.
• Develop and maintain automation, scripts, and tooling.
• Troubleshoot complex endpoint protection issues and escalate when needed.
• Maintain technical documentation and runbooks.
• Stay informed on emerging endpoint threats and share insights.
