Job summary

The New Hope-Solebury School District is seeking a Middle School Boys Soccer Assistant Coach to support the Head Coach in administering and developing the program. This part-time role emphasizes teamwork, athletic development, and sportsmanship for seventh-grade players.

Responsibilities include coaching drills, running structured practices, coordinating with the eighth-grade coach, and ensuring safety and compliance with district rules.

Qualifications

• Prior coaching and/or competitive experience in Soccer, preferably at the middle school or youth level.
• Strong knowledge of field hockey rules, modern techniques, training principles, and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, organization, and coaching of the 7th grade while assisting the 8th grade coach.
• Coach and supervise student-athletes in fundamentals, including stick handling, passing, receiving, defensive positioning, and goalkeeping.
• Conduct structured practices for the 7th grade squad emphasizing skill development, conditioning, and safe participation.
• Instruct student-athletes in game fundamentals and tactical strategies for the 7th grade level.
• Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback for growth and team development.
• Promote and model appropriate conduct, sportsmanship, and respect for teammates, opponents, officials, and the school community.
• Support academic success and overall well-being of student-athletes in alignment with District expectations.
• Collaborate with the 8th grade coach for vertical alignment in drills and terminology.
• Oversee 7th grade match preparation and assist with 8th grade game management, including equipment setup and supervision.
• Ensure proper use, storage, and maintenance of soccer equipment and facilities.
• Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents/guardians, administrators, and athletic staff.
• Ensure compliance with District policies, PIAA regulations, and middle school league rules.
• Uphold district codes of conduct and team rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Head Coach or Athletic Director.

The New Hope-Solebury School District is looking for a Middle School Boys Soccer Assistant Coach responsible for assisting the Head Coach in the administration, organization, and development of the New Hope-Solebury Middle SchoolSoccer program. This position supports the District’s mission by promoting academic achievement, athletic excellence, sportsmanship, and the personal growth of student-athletes during their foundational middle school years.

• Communicate effectively and professionally with student-athletes, parents/guardians, administrators, and athletic department staff.
• Ensure compliance with District policies, PIAA regulations, and middle school league rules.
• Uphold and enforce District codes of conduct, team rules, and expectations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director.

Qualifications

• Prior coaching and/or competitive experience inSoccer is preferred, specifically at the middle school or youth level.
• Strong knowledge of field hockey rules, modern techniques, training principles, and safety practices.
• Ability to work effectively with middle-school-aged student-athletes in a developmental, educational environment.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with the Athletic Director, fellow coaches, and school staff.
• Completion of all required District, PIAA, and state-mandated clearances and coaching certifications.
