Job summary

Dauch Corporation is seeking an EDM Specialist to plan, lay out, and perform bench and machine operations to construct, alter and repair intricately designed tools, dies, fixtures, and gauges. The role requires meticulous setup, measurement, and adherence to drawings.

Completion of a state-qualified apprenticeship or equivalent, plus strong math and reading skills, are mandatory. You will train others and operate wire and conventional EDM equipment to achieve precise results.

Qualifications

• Completion of state-qualified apprenticeship program or equivalent with technical math.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications with decimal and fractional calculations.
• Experience with setting up and operating machine shop equipment and tooling practices.
• Strong training and mentoring skills to guide others in duties and responsibilities.
• Physical ability to lift and handle heavy parts as required in a machine shop.

Responsibilities

• Program, operate and maintain wire & conventional EDM equipment.
• Lay out work and plan machining and bench procedures; train lower skilled tool makers.
• Perform difficult machining with complex setups and tooling adaptations beyond normal equipment capacities.
• Perform critical bench and assembly operations to fit, align, adjust, assemble and finish work.

Job Description

Completion of state-qualified apprenticeship program or equivalent work experience with general education including verbal and written communication and technical math.

• Ability to perform difficult/technical calculations with decimals and fractions, use and interpret a wide variety of precision measuring instruments for exacting measurements, work from complicated drawings and specifications.
• Consistently demonstrate a high degree of skill and extensive knowledge of tooling practices and applications; set up, adjust, and operate machine shop equipment.
• Strong inter-personal skills needed to effectively train, guide, and support others in performing their duties and responsibilities. Ability to effectively organize work flow and set priorities in accordance with established procedures and daily instructions.

Program, operate and maintain wire & conventional EDM equipment

• Lay out work and plan machining and bench procedures. Train lower skilled tool makers on operations and procedures.
• Perform difficult machining operations requiring complicated set ups involving the improvising of tooling and machines for adaptations beyond the normal range and capacities of available equipment.
• Perform critical bench and assembly operations to fit, align, adjust, assemble and finish work

Required Skills And Education

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel and climb.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. frequently and 75-100 lbs. occasionally.
• Repetitive use of hands for simple grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
• Excellent vision and depth perception
