Job summary

At Dauch, the Machine Technician 1 role is to perform routine and technical production tasks in our Manitowoc facility, following prescribed methods with minimal supervision. You will help train lower skilled personnel and maintain smooth workflow across shifts.

The job requires reading drawings, using precision measuring tools, and maintaining safety standards for you and your team.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent education is required.
• Ability to read and follow detailed instructions with accuracy.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and use decimals and fractions.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow detailed instructions on routine tasks.
• Use precision measuring instruments and devices such as micrometers, dial indicators, and hardness testers.
• Visually inspect and measure parts being produced.
• Read and interpret drawings and blueprints.
• Maintain production skills and knowledge across shifts.
• Train lower skilled personnel and communicate with supervision.
• Maintain a safe working area and identify hazards and report them.

Job Description

• Ability to read and follow detailed instructions on routine tasks. Perform basic mathematical computations using decimals and fractions. Legible penmanship and accurate completion of reports, charts, and other documents.
• Ability to use a variety of precision measuring instruments and devices, such as but not limited to micrometers, plug gages, dial indicators, hardness testers, air and electronic gages, electronic data collection equipment, etc.
• Ability to visually inspect and measure parts being produced
• Read and interpret drawings and blueprints.
• Consistently demonstrate production skills and knowledge on product, equipment, processes, routines and procedures.
• Good organizational skills are needed to maintain work area and set priorities according to daily production requirements. Good communication skills are needed to effectively train lower skilled personnel and maintain information flow to supervision and across shifts.
• Maintain a safe working area to ensure the safety of self and other team members, with ability to identify potential safety and environmental hazards and communicate immediately to Leaders.
