Nissha Medical Technologies – New Richmond seeks an EDM Setup, Programming & Operation technician to analyze CAD models, set up sinker EDM machines, and develop burn strategies with guidance from senior staff.

You will monitor processes, maintain tight tolerances, and contribute to continuous improvements while ensuring compliance with quality and ITAR requirements. This role is based at the Isometric Micro Molding Center of Excellence in New Richmond, WI.

Qualifications

  • Associate or technical degree in machining, manufacturing technology, or related discipline or 0–3 years EDM experience.
  • Minimal experience in sinker EDM setup, programming, and operation.
  • Minimal experience achieving tight tolerances.
  • Minimal understanding of EDM principles, electrode materials, and burn strategies.
  • Prefer CAD familiarity (Creo, Edrawings, SolidWorks) and apprenticeship or related hands-on background.

Responsibilities

  • Learn to analyze CAD models, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine EDM machining approach with minimal supervision.
  • Set up and operate sinker EDM machines to achieve +/- .0001 accuracy with minimal supervision.
  • Learn and develop and optimize EDM burn strategies with EDM Sinker Specialist III.
  • Learn and monitor machining processes and adjust to maintain tolerances and surface finish requirements.

What You Will Do
Essential Job Functions (Core Responsibilities - ~85%)
EDM Setup, Programming & Operation – 70%
  • Learn to analyze CAD models, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine EDM machining approach with minimal supervision.
  • Set up and operate sinker EDM machines to achieve +/-.0001 accuracy with minimal supervision.
  • Learn and develop and optimize EDM burn strategies with EDM Sinker Specialist III.
  • Learn and monitor machining processes and adjust to maintain tolerances and surface finish requirements.
Collaboration With Manufacturing Groups, Team Development and Strategy – 5%
  • Work side by side with EDM Sinker Specialist III, learning how to collaborate with CNC, Toolmakers, and Polishing teams to ensure component readiness and accuracy.
Troubleshooting, Maintenance & Optimization – 10%
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and ensure equipment is operating efficiently.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance cycle time and quality with direction and collaboration from EDM Sinker Specialist III.
Additional Responsibilities (Secondary - ~15%)
Compliance
  • Follow all company quality standards, safety policies, and required procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality with all proprietary information.
What You Bring
Core Qualifications
  • Associate or technical degree in machining, manufacturing technology, or related discipline OR a minimum of 0-3 years of sinker EDM experience.
  • Minimal experience in sinker EDM setup, programming, and operation.
  • Minimal experience achieving tight tolerances.
  • Minimal understanding of EDM principles, electrode materials, and burn strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimal ability to read and understand blueprint reading and GD&T.
  • Minimal experience with CAD software (Creo, Edrawings, Solidworks) preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving capability and mechanical aptitude.
  • EDM or Tool & Die related certification preferred.
  • Completion of apprenticeship or equivalent hands‑on experience is strongly preferred

Compensation & Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is $22.00 – $30.00 hourly. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and geographic location.
