Job summary

Soon in San Francisco is seeking an editorial lead to shape our growing AI-focused tech content. This role centers on guiding our output across longform and social platforms, with an emphasis on clear, rigorous storytelling.

You will work closely with video and social teams, driving audience engagement and staying ahead of AI discourse. Location in SF; relocation support available.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in newsroom or editorial operation.
• Proven traction producing content for YouTube and/or X/Instagram.
• Strong writing, research, and journalistic skills.
• Deep, cutting edge understanding of AI discourse.
• Comfortable being on-camera (or willing to learn).

Responsibilities

• Lead editorial output and content strategy for Soon across YouTube and social channels.
• Oversee storytelling quality, pacing, and feature development.
• Collaborate with video and social teams to maximize reach and engagement.

Soon is a new tech media company built to help Gen Z navigate the AI era. We publish a longform YouTube video every week and reach hundreds of thousands of tech enthusiasts and industry insiders every month.

We’re looking for an editorial lead to help evolve our content output.

Ideal experience:

• 3+ years working inside of a newsroom or editorial operation
• Proven traction producing content for YouTube and/or X and Instagram
• Strong writing, research, and journalistic skills
• A deep, cutting edge understanding of AI discourse
• Comfortable being on-camera (or comfortable to learn)
