Job summary

The Pew Charitable Trusts, based in Washington, DC, seeks an Associate Director of Editorial to lead Pew’s editorial operations across print and digital platforms. You will guide senior editors and freelancers, ensure high editorial standards, and shape storytelling for Pew’s research output.

You will collaborate with policy experts, designers, and digital strategists, shaping content for reports, scripts, podcasts, and multimedia features while upholding Pew’s nonpartisan, accurate voice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Approximately 10 years of editing experience, including senior-level editing.
• Experience supervising staff and performance evaluations.
• Familiarity with AP Stylebook and Chicago Manual of Style.
• Experience writing and editing across traditional and digital media.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise a team of content editors and freelance editors, including budgeting and scheduling.
• Serve as content editor for TOPs with strategic planning and edits.
• Edit for clarity, accuracy and impact to meet editorial standards.
• Plan and edit content for Pew's in-depth research reports and other materials.
• Collaborate with designers, multimedia producers, and digital strategists on integrated content.
