Palladium is seeking an experienced Editorial Consultant for our United States facility to support Data.FI and related programs. The role focuses on editing in English, ensuring APA compliance, and delivering clear, well-structured materials across reports, briefs, blogs, and presentations.

The consultant will edit for coherence, fact-check content, and maintain branding while meeting tight deadlines on academic and policy documents related to digital health and global health initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 5 years professional experience as a copyeditor
  • Deep familiarity with APA and other relevant style guides
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines and manage parallel assignments
  • Ability to edit documents quickly and efficiently
  • High degree of responsiveness to email
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to parse and hone meaning
  • Strong attention to detail and concern for accuracy and comprehensiveness
  • 8 years or more of professional experience as a copyeditor
  • Experience preparing documents for academic publication, preferably in fields of social science, health, and/or digital technologies
  • Experience working for international development projects, especially USG and State Department-funded projects
  • High level of knowledge of digital health and global health

Responsibilities

  • Edit and rewrite reports, briefs, PowerPoint presentations, success stories, blogs, and news articles on subjects related to data science and digital health.
  • Provide critical review of writing for coherence, organization, completeness, and clarity, and suggest approaches to improving quality of materials.
  • Provide technical review when necessary and appropriate for documents.
  • Proofread documents by content writers, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Ensure written materials meet branding requirements and confirm to Data.FI's APA style and Palladium requirements.
  • Show ability to critique and suggest improvements to data science and digital health materials written in English.
  • Conduct other communications-related tasks to support the other projects or Palladium communications products, as necessary.

Editorial Consultant

We are searching for an experienced Editorial Consultant with a background in digital health and USG-funded global programming to assist with copyediting in English.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities:

Palladium is a global leader in the design, development, and delivery of Positive Impact - the intentional creation of enduring social and economic value. We work with foundations, investors, governments, corporations, communities, and civil society to formulate strategies and implement solutions that generate lasting social, environmental, and financial benefits.

The Data for Implementation (Data.FI) project, within the Information Systems portfolio of Palladium Group, is a cooperative agreement funded by the U.S. State Department through PEPFAR. It is implemented by Palladium and supported by expert global and local resource partners.

Data.FI is a global project that helps countries strengthen routine health information systems to optimize efficiencies in the health sector, track and rapidly respond to the HIV epidemic and emerging health threats, and improve client care through integrated, and flexible digital health solutions, data analytics, and institutionalized data use practices.

The project is seeking a short-term English language editorial consultant to assist with existing documentation workflows as well as upcoming expecting materials tied to several new buy-ins and Core scope activities. The consultant will work under the direct supervision and management of the project's Senior Associate for KM and Communications.

The Consultant Will:

Overall, the consultant will provide technical editorial and copyediting support to Data.FI and, as needed and upon request, to other projects within the Information Systems portfolio.

Specifically, The Consultant Will:
  • Edit and/or rewrite reports, briefs, PowerPoint presentations, success stories, blogs, and news articles on subjects related to data science and digital health.
  • Provide critical review of writing for coherence, organization, completeness, and clarity, and suggest approaches to improving quality of materials.
  • Provide technical review when necessary and appropriate for documents.
  • Proofread documents by content writers, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Ensure written materials meet branding requirements and confirm to Data.FI's APA style and Palladium requirements.
  • Show ability to critique and suggest improvements to data science and digital health materials written in English.
  • Conduct other communications-related tasks to support the other projects or Palladium communications products, as necessary.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5 years professional experience as a copyeditor
  • Deep familiarity with APA and other relevant style guides
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines and manage parallel assignments
  • Ability to edit documents quickly and efficiently (e.g., proof a 20-page document within 4 hours)
  • High degree of responsiveness to email
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to parse and hone meaning
  • Strong attention to detail and concern for accuracy and comprehensiveness
  • Strong aptitude with Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Word and PowerPoint
  • Flexibility and willingness dealing with a workload that ebbs and flows
  • 8 years or more of professional experience as a copyeditor
  • Experience preparing documents for academic publication, preferably in fields of social science, health, and/or digital technologies
  • Experience working for international development projects, especially USG and State Department-funded projects
  • High level of knowledge of digital health and global health
