Job summary

The Jain Family Institute (JFI) seeks an associate to join its editorial team. You will edit and grow the Phenomenal World web publication, research and write the weekly JFI Sources newsletter, and collaborate with staff on research projects, events, and communications.

The role is full-time, with remote work through year end and potential office options in Manhattan. Ideal candidates have an undergraduate or graduate background in social sciences or experience at a publication covering similar

Qualifications

Strong editing and writing skills.
Ability to fulfill deadlines independently and in a timely manner.
Familiarity with and interest in fields related to JFI’s work.

Responsibilities

Edit and grow the Phenomenal World web publication and newsletter.
Research and write the weekly newsletter (JFI Sources).
Collaborate with JFI staff on research projects, events and communications.
Balance 70% PW/newsletter work with 30% editorial support for research initiatives.
Edit research papers and other materials, and format/publish using Markdown.
Outreach to journalists and peer organizations; assist with events and promotions.
Attend strategy sessions on bringing work to key audiences.
