Hearst Magazines in New York seeks an Art Director for Cosmopolitan and Seventeen to shape visual identities across print, digital, social, video, and live experiences.

You will collaborate with editors, photographers, and video teams to deliver editorial layouts, branding, and compelling storytelling across platforms.

The role offers a hybrid schedule in NYC with four days in the office and a base salary of $101k–$122k, determined by experience and location.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in consumer editorial design across digital and print.
• Expertise in editorial design, typography, branding, and visual storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evolve the visual identity for Cosmopolitan and Seventeen across print, digital, social, video, and experiential platforms.
• Design editorial layouts, feature packages, celebrity profiles, and special projects with typography and imagery.
• Create graphics, logos, branding assets, and collateral for websites, social, video, and live events.
• Collaborate with editors, writers, photographers, video producers, social teams, and partners to execute creative solutions.
• Define and improve workflows and design processes for consistency and quality across teams.
• Commission and art direct freelance illustrators while maintaining brand standards.
• Oversee image selection, color approval, and photo retouching directions with imaging specialists.
• Deliver high-impact creative work while balancing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
