Job summary

Rownd seeks an Edge Computer Vision Engineer to design, build, and deploy vision systems on autonomous drones and edge devices. You own the end-to-end vision stack, from camera selection to processor choice and model deployment, with a focus on fast, production-grade code.

The role requires US citizenship, hands-on CV hardware experience, and mastery of PyTorch/TensorFlow, OpenCV, TensorRT, CUDA, C++, and Python.

Qualifications

• US citizenship and eligibility for a U.S. security clearance.
• Hands-on experience deploying CV models to physical hardware.
• Proficiency with PyTorch/TensorFlow, OpenCV, TensorRT, CUDA, C++, and Python.
• Ability to work autonomously in a startup, with strong problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel 4–5 weeks per year and adaptable to non-traditional hubs.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy edge vision pipelines for autonomous drones and assets.
• Select cameras, sensors, processors, and software stacks for mission needs.
• Implement state-of-the-art vision models and optimize for edge hardware.
• Compress and deploy lightweight models with low latency and power awareness.
• Integrate code across hardware, software, and navigation pipelines.
• Collaborate in a remote-first team with regular standups and reviews.
