Block, Inc. seeks a Security Engineer for Network Edge Security in a remote-first environment based in the US. You will harden API security, build streaming analytics, and evolve ML models to classify threats at the edge across multiple brands. Strong coding in Java/Kotlin/Python and CDN/AWS experience are required.

You will collaborate with engineering and operations to monitor, deploy, and respond to threats, leveraging WAFs, CDN tools, and vendor integrations as needed.

Formación

• 5+ years of software or security engineering experience in production systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, TypeScript and Python; strong SQL and Spark skills.

Responsabilidades

• Respond and mitigate threats at the network edge using WAF rules and CDN-native tech.
• Build a real-time streaming analytics pipeline and maintain monitoring.
• Develop ML labeling and model improvements for security posture.
• Integrate vendor systems with in-house solutions and manage deployments.
• Support edge security automation to classify and mitigate abusive traffic.
