Job summary

ByteDance is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to own end-to-end design of edge cloud products and to build a full-lifecycle resource operation platform. You will optimize modules like user management, billing, inventory, and resource scheduling, while enabling secure, scalable systems for global use.

You will also develop a unified resource pool management platform that integrates self-hosted and third-party clouds, driving cost efficiency and scalable operations across global edge

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in CS/Software Eng/Networking, with 3+ years of R&D in cloud platform, cloud-native, or edge infrastructure.
• Proficient in Go, C++, Python; hands-on experience building large-scale backend or infrastructure systems.
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture and core components; hands-on experience with large-scale cluster operation.
• Familiar with virtualization and container tech including KVM/QEMU, Virtio, container isolation, and image management.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, log pipelines, and distributed tracing systems.
• Strong architectural thinking, root-cause analysis, and ability to own complex module design and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end design and iteration of core edge cloud products, including container, bare-metal, and network capabilities; optimize modules and ensure scalable systems.
• Build a full-lifecycle resource operation platform covering planning, provisioning, delivery, runtime management, and billing; analyze global resource data for insights.
• Develop a unified resource pool management platform integrating self-hosted and third-party cloud resources; improve cost efficiency and resource competitiveness.
