Job summary

Cloudflare in Austin, Texas is seeking a Capacity Engineer to own planning regions end-to-end, building models and data pipelines to forecast capacity and drive deployment decisions.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in an analytical, planning, or technical infrastructure role.
• SQL: proficient querying and joining datasets in BigQuery.
• Python for data analysis, scripting, and automation in Jupyter notebooks.
• Clear written and verbal communication; ability to explain capacity recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience owning a workstream end-to-end with light supervision.

Responsibilities

• Own edge planning regions end-to-end with minimal supervision.
• Maintain and improve regional planning models with new traffic patterns and changes.
• Build data pipelines feeding regional planning using BigQuery, Python, and Jupyter notebooks.
• Work with hardware sourcing and infrastructure teams to translate forecasts into deployment plans.
• Proactively identify capacity risks in your region and surface them before escalation.
• Use OpenCode AI and MAS agent tooling daily as part of planning workflow.
• Contribute to cross-regional consistency with shared methodologies and standards.
• Present forecast outputs clearly to non-technical stakeholders during planning reviews.
