Job summary

BCforward is seeking a Computer Vision Engineer-Embedded to design and deploy high-performance CV/ML solutions on resource-constrained edge devices in Sunnyvale, CA. You will bridge camera hardware, software, and AI frameworks.

You will optimize on-device workloads for latency, memory and power, integrate with Android camera frameworks, and collaborate with hardware and software teams to bring AI features onto production devices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/EE/CE or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python, C, and C++.
• Experience deploying ML models on edge-optimized frameworks (TensorFlow Lite, ONNX Runtime, PyTorch Edge).
• Familiarity with the Android platform, camera or multimedia subsystems.
• Solid understanding of computer vision fundamentals, DSP, image processing, or camera architectures.
• Experience with performance-constrained or embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy computer vision and ML pipelines on edge hardware.
• Optimize multiple concurrent ML workloads for throughput and latency.
• Integrate edge-AI algorithms with Android camera and multimedia frameworks.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to connect camera sensor systems with NPUs, GPUs, and DSPs.
• Optimize ML inference for memory, power, and execution time on devices.
• Develop and optimize low-level software using C and C++ and Python for ML development and tooling.
• Profile systems to identify bottlenecks in memory, scheduling, and latency.
• Develop real-time CV pipelines for resource-constrained devices.
• Bring AI features onto production devices with cross-team collaboration.
