Job summary

South Kipling Dental Care, part of a Heartland Dental supported office, seeks an Expanded Duties Dental Assistant to join the team and assist with clinical care, patient comfort, and scheduling while following safety policies.

The role emphasizes lab equipment organization, radiography, history taking, and assisting during emergencies, with ongoing clinical education through Heartland Dental programs.

Qualifications

• Positive, outgoing personality with excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Excellent patient care and strong organizational skills.
• Superior knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Ability to build rapport with patients.
• Good manual dexterity.
• Computer proficiency and ability to learn new programs.
• Available to travel at least every other month for training, occasionally overnight.
• Dental assisting school certificate is a plus.
• Previous work experience in a dental practice is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain lab equipment.
• Take and develop X-rays and provide comprehensive post-operative procedures to patients.
• Take and record medical and dental histories and patient vital signs.
• Assist the dentist in managing dental emergencies.
• Continuously improve clinical skills through training and education opportunities offered by Heartland Dental.
