Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a healthcare professional to respond to medical emergencies in collaboration with an RN and transport patients to the ED. You will perform clinical procedures, EKGs, phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing under RN supervision.

Responsibilities include operating specialty equipment, maintaining safety, restocking supplies, and communicating patient-condition changes to the unit team. CPR certification and medical terminology knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR certification.
• Medical terminology knowledge.
• First Receivers – Operations Level Hazardous Materials Emergency Response.

Responsibilities

• Respond to medical emergencies with an RN and transport patients to the ED.
• Respond to critical patient situations.
• Set up and assist with operating specialty equipment.
• Perform clinical procedures within scope of practice.
• Perform EKGs, glucometry, phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, and collect/send specimens.
• Perform quality control checks as appropriate.
• Perform out-of-bed/back-to-bed activities as appropriate.
• Provide safe, appropriate, quality patient care.
• Communicate new orders, patient-condition changes, and unit concerns with the unit-based team.
• Restock unit supplies as needed.
• Perform patient observations under RN direction and supervision.
• Maintain code carts, defibrillators, and unit-specific equipment.
• Assist with gynecological exams.
• Apply, maintain, and remove immobilization devices as needed.
• Perform CPR.
