Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to join the ED care team at Easton/Warren campuses. The ED Technician assists in patient transport, clinical procedures, and monitoring under RN supervision.

Required are a high school diploma and CPR certification; familiarity with medical terminology is expected, with opportunities to participate in quality control and patient observation duties as part of a collaborative unit.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR certification required.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Medical terminology knowledge beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Responds to medical emergencies with an RN and transports patient to ED.
• Responds to critical patient situations and assists with equipment.
• Performs clinical procedures within scope of practice (EKG, venipuncture, point-of-care testing).
• Maintains quality control checks and safety of patients and equipment.
• Communicates changes in patient condition to the care team; restocks supplies.
• Performs CPR and assists with procedures as directed by RN.
