We are seeking a dedicated full-time ED Technician for night shifts at Sovah Health in Danville, VA. Under the supervision of an RN, you will perform basic patient care activities essential to patient well-being.

Position Summary

The ED Technician will:

• Perform basic patient care activities, including monitoring vital signs, recording intake and output, and possibly taking blood glucose measurements, as delegated by an RN.
• Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, eating, and ambulation.
• Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, or emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Maintain patient rooms and common areas in a clean, stocked, and orderly manner.

Minimum Education

• High school diploma or GED

Required Skills

• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently
• Ability to work effectively in stressful situations and respond quickly and calmly during emergencies
• Good organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge to provide age-appropriate care to patients

Certifications/Licenses

• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Current EMT certification from Virginia or North Carolina, or active, unrestricted CNA certification by the Virginia Board of Nursing

Experience

• Prior experience as an ED Tech, EMT, or CNA in an emergency setting preferred
