Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; CNA or equivalent preferred.
• Two years of direct patient care experience or equivalent education. Training specified by placement.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, peers and supervisors; CPR required.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and use proper body mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Clinical Nurse, collect and report information to support assessment, planning and evaluation of patient needs.
• Obtain and record vital signs as delegated by the RN.
• Perform selected treatments and procedures to contribute to safe patient care.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team while considering cultural and individual diversity.
• Communicate professionally with patients, families and staff; cover the IA desk in the absence of the IA.
